Madrid brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to economic equity and empowerment to his role on the board.

Previously serving as the Associate Administrator for the Office of Entrepreneurial Development at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Madrid's extensive background in the public and private sectors positions him as a nationally acclaimed, trusted, and energetic leader joining the Hispanic Wealth Project. His leadership at the SBA reflects a dedication to supporting entrepreneurs across America and increasing opportunities for minority-owned businesses to thrive.
In his capacity as a council member of the Hispanic Wealth Project, Madrid will focus on advancing initiatives that promote financial education, empower Hispanic communities, and drive wealth creation among underserved populations. His appointment underscores the Hispanic Wealth Project's dedication to fostering inclusive economic growth and narrowing the wealth gap.
Prior to his tenure at the SBA, Mark Madrid distinguished himself as a dedicated leader in promoting economic equity. He served as the CEO of the Latino Business Action Network, where he collaborated with Stanford University on the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen the U.S. economy by researching and supporting the growth of scaled Latino and Latina businesses nationwide.
Additionally, Madrid showcased his leadership skills as the CEO of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC) from 2014 to 2017. Under his tenure, the GAHCC received recognition as the 2015 United States Hispanic Chamber of the Year, highlighting Madrid's commitment to fostering business excellence within the Hispanic community.
