Framing the Day

In 2014, NAHREP established the Hispanic Wealth Project (HWP), an initiative born after the Great Recession, when Latinos lost up to two-thirds of their median household wealth. HWP set out a goal to triple Hispanic household wealth in 10 years - by 2024, focusing on three areas: Homeownership, Small business, and Financial Participation. Next year will be the 10th anniversary since NAHREP, with Gary Acosta, Henry Cisneros, founding Partner Wells Fargo, and others, set forth that wealth creation roadmap. Median household wealth for Latinos has indeed tripled ahead of the 10-year goal set in 2014. This session will reflect on the premise of setting those goals and the outlook for future Latino wealth creation.
