Latina Wealth Week - 5 Latinas, 5 Questions, 5 Wealth Journeys
To commemorate Latina Equal Pay Day on October 5th and Hispanic Heritage Month, Wealth Stream launches Latina Wealth Week. Over the next 5 days, we will be featuring the Wealth journeys of 5 incredible Latinas who will respond to 5 questions about how they look at wealth creation.

Latinas have emerged as one of the most dynamic and influential groups in the United States, consistently demonstrating excellence across various sectors and industries. However, despite their remarkable contributions, the harsh reality persists: in 2022, Latinas continued to grapple with a staggering pay gap, receiving only 52 cents for every dollar earned by their white, non-Hispanic male counterparts. This statistic encompasses all Latinas, including those in part-time, seasonal, and migrant work. For those who work full-time, year-round, the wage gap narrows to 57 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men. This stark wage disparity serves as a stark reminder of the enduring economic challenges faced by Latinas.

The Hispanic Wealth Project will highlight 5 remarkable Latinas who continue to make progress for themselves and their communities. We asked them:

  • Tell us the origins of your wealth journey
  • Describe the main milestones, opportunities, and challenges
  • Share Tools and Tips to help you create wealth
  • What or Who did you wish you had known earlier?
  • How would you like your wealth legacy to be remembered?

The Five Latinas to be featured are

  • Beatriz Acevedo - CEO/Cofounder SUMA. President Acevedo Foundation, Keynote Speaker, Board Member, Cultural Strategist & Philanthropist
  • Sylvia Acevedo – Board Member | Tech Executive Entrepreneur | Speaker | Author
  • Esther Aguilera- Senior Advisor, Altura Capital Group
  • Cheryl Campos – Head of Venture Growth & Partnerships, Republic | Co-Founder, VCFamilia
  • Adela Cepeda - Board leader for public and private companies and mutual funds and Co-Founder Angeles Investors

Here is a glimpse of what is to come:

“Growing up, I knew the rhythm of living paycheck to paycheck all too intimately. Sometimes, even those paychecks weren’t enough to last the month. Such hardships don’t just affect one’s wallet—they shape one's perspective, igniting an unyielding desire for change.”
“Throughout my journey in the financial world, I've learned that ownership is paramount. Whether it's through investments in stocks, equity in startups, or other opportunities, the key is to capitalize on these ownership avenues.”
I have always been invested in the market and think this is a great core for your holdings, including your retirement investments.
“My early experiences taught me that unless there are people like us in positions of power and leading enterprises, our unique perspectives and economic force are undervalued.”

“I think every high school teenager should be well versed in the basics at a bare minimum before they leave for college, where many of the bad money habits start when most students start getting into debt without understanding the implications, it's not free money.”
We look forward to sharing their responses and to hearing about your wealth journeys.
